What is the history of scuba diving that you should know? The history of scuba diving reveals that scuba diving is not a modern sport. Since about 4500BC, our ancestors have experienced scuba diving. In additioin, before the modern scuba diving gears were found, people living in the coastal communities in Shina, Mesopotamiam and Greece were already diving into the depth of the ocean.

When the survival of their families is at risk, lots of people would risk everything including their lives just to ensure that their families survive. According to the history of scuba diving, the art of diving water was used as part of fighting tactics by the Greeks. Divers were sent out to sea to sabotage the ships of the enemies during the Trojan War. These divers go under the enemy ships and then puncture holes in the hull of the ship. In addition, they also cut the anchor ropes to destabilize the enemy ship during battle.

Aside from attacking and destabilizing enemy ships, the Trojans also make use of divers to design underwater defenses to protect their ports from the enemies. Based on accounts in the scuba diving history, the Trojans were also to eradicate most of their enemy’s ships through their underwater defenses.

According to the history of scuba diving, you should know that building and repairing those underwater defenses unluckily will be very expensive. Throughout building underwater barriers, many divers were wounded and some of them drowned. Building underwater structures is lots of hard work that even the strongest of divers often give up to the muscle cramps and lastly drown to death.
